The spokesman of Pan Niger Delta Forum, Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe, has revealed what will happen if the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi fails to reconcile divisions in the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He said if the former Governor refused to bring the party members together, the APC would lose governorship again come 2019.
Sara-Igbe, while addressing reporters in Port Harcourt on Monday, pointed out that failure by Amaechi to shun perceived imposition and allow a reconciled Rivers APC to democratically pick the party’s 2018 governorship flag bearer would further compromise the party’s guber chances in the next election.
He said, “Amaechi is not contesting the governorship of Rivers in 2019, for sure he has been statutorily banned from contesting governorship having served two times as governor.
“Therefore, he should stop parading as someone contesting the governorship election and allow those contesting to come forward.
“Now that APC has joined the league of factional parties, will he still dictate who should be flag bearer or toe the line of peace and reconciliation and allow party members across the state choose their governorship candidate for 2019? Or does he want APC to lose the election in favour of rivalry political parties?”
