Chelsea striker, Olivier Giroud has stated that the France national team will show Arsenal legend, Thiery Henry, that he picked the wrong side ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-final clash with Belgium at the Petersburg Stadium in Russia.
On Tuesday night, however, Henry will serve as assistant to Belgium head coach, Roberto Martinez, as they seek a place in Sunday’s final against England or Croatia.
“It is bizarre to have Thierry against us in this match,” Giroud told reporters ahead of Belgium clash.
“I would be very proud to show Thierry that he chose the wrong camp.
“I would have preferred to have Henry on our side, to give me and the other French forwards advice, but I am not too jealous.”
He added, “It has been a few years since he said what he said about me. My job is to be good on the pitch, to represent France as well as possible. It is also a particular match for him.”
France head into the game after beating Uruguay 2-0 on Friday in the quarter-final, while Belgium defeated Brazil 2-1 last weekend.
