OPay has been named the Most Trusted Fintech Brand at the 2026 Consumers Value Awards (CVA), securing 70.1 percent of the total valid votes in the category.
The award was presented on September 23, 2026, in Lagos, during the fifth edition of the Consumers Value Awards.
OPay also won the Most Consumer Friendly/Innovation Fintech Brand Category, recording 70.2 per cent of the votes.
The 2026 CVA was based on consumer voting, with winners emerging from validated public votes.
The awards particularly significant because they are based on a nationwide consumer voting process.
According to the Consumers Value Awards, consumers nominate brands they believe have delivered value, after which shortlisted nominees proceeds to public exercise. The brand with the highest number of valid votes in each category is declared the winner.
The recognition, therefore, represents more than an industry honour, it reflects the choices of consumers who use and interact with financial technology brands in their everyday lives.
Speaking at the awards, Odiase Ikponmwosa Kolawole, Head of Partnership, OPay, said the recognition reflected the relationship the company has built with its customers.
“This award belongs to our customers. Their trust challenges us to keep delivering simple, reliable and innovative financial services that make everyday life easier”.
The latest recognition also comes as OPay marks eight year s of operations in Nigeria, with the company continuing to position trust accessibility, innovation and consumer experience at the heart of its work. For OPay, the two awards provide a clear message from consumers the value of a financial service is ultimately measured by the confidence people have in using it everyday.
OPay offers a wide range of payment services, including money transfers, bill payments, and card services, airtime and data purchases and merchant payments, among others.
OPay is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and insured by the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Cooperation (NDIC).
