To honour Mothers’ Day in the US, new mum Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has shared a photo with her son, Archie, who is now just one-week-old.
The Duchess shared the photo on the Sussex Royal Instagram page with the caption:
“Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you. Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe.”
The image shows Archie’s tiny week-old feet against a backdrop of spring flowers that look like forget-me-nots, to us.
When will we next see baby Archie?
In just 16 hours, the Instagram post has received over 1.7million likes, as the nation awaits the next time we will get to see baby Archie more officially.
It is thought that will likely be on the day of his Christening which, traditionally, happens quite quickly after the birth. In the case of Prince George, the christening took place in Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace on October 23, 2013. That was three months and one day after his birth.
This was the longest wait out of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three children, with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louise both being christened closer to two months after birth.
That means we could be looking at mid-July for our next official viewing of the newest member of the royal family, Archie Harrison.
