The Rural Electrification Agency, REA Under Federal Government has announced that the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ebonyi is now independent of National Power Grid because the institution is now generating its power from solar panels.
REA via its official Twitter handle says that the project is now completed and ready for commissioning.
3500 solar panels were installed to serve 7,700 student and 1,819 staff members of the University.
The solar Panels generates total Capacity of 2.8MW and as a result 108 Jobs were created.
