The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa @abikedabiri is under fire for making a false post that claimed that the 333 school boys abducted in Katsina state have been rescued.

A twitter handle @abikedabiri which was official handle of the NIDCOM @nidcom_gov chairman/CEO and bearing the name Abike Dabiri as well had tweeted:

“Yaaaay. The 333 boys captured in katsina have been rescued . Allhamdulilah !
@MBuhari administration has brought back our boys 💃💃 , #BringBackOurBoys  . Our boys are back”

9News Nigeria gathered that the NIDCOM @nidcom_gov‘s Chairman/CEO had misunderstood the video released by the Boko Haram in which they were showing off their prowess and power for being responsible for the abduction of the school boys. It was gathered that Abike Dabiri did not do any due diligence and misunderstood the video to be from the Nigerian military showing that the boys were rescued.

As soon as Abike Dabiri realised her error, she quickly deleted the post from her official twitter handle, but it was already late because many netizens have already seen and captured the tweet.

In order to cover up the errors, Abike Dabiri made counter tweets claiming that she was not the one that made the original tweet, which actually emanated from her official twitter handle without any ambiguity whatsoever.

“Pls don’t credit any post on katsina boys to my twitter handle. I lost control of my handle in the last couple of minutes, along with my Instagram. I have recovered and changed my password”

Abike Dabiri made further arguments that it was a fake twitter handle bearing her name who made the post falsely claiming that the boys have been rescued.

As at the time of this report, the NIDCOM chairman/CEO is still going back and forth with twitter users in effort to clear her errors, but the dogmatic netizens are defiant and resistant to her claims.

It came on my TL. It was not photoshopped! Explain how it is possible to have it in different formats if it was photoshopped? pic.twitter.com/vDsgxe3YlA
