The Staff of Retail group Access Bank PLC (CSR 2025) has visited Umuokpo community in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state Nigeria and established a high Powered solar borehole aimed at providing free water facility to the area.
The empowerment is an out burn idea of some individuals in Access Bank PLC being carried out in several communities nationwide. Rumours making the rounds that the project has a political connotation is false and holds no water as investigated by our correspondent.
Some politicians invited for the commissioning even requested huge sum of money as a mobilisation to be present at the event day but Access Bank turned down their request and continued with the commissioning.
However, the borehole project was not brought to Umuokpo community or was not facilitated by either politician or any political party in Nigeria. The project is non political and non partisan, the Retail group Access Bank PLC reassured.
A home grown contracting firm cum official vendor to Access Bank in Imo state Nigeria, kleentek Global Services Limited successfully executed and commissioned the borehole project sited in Umuokpo Owerri West .
The Borehole installation was powered by the Staff Of Retail group Access Bank PLC (CSR 2025) aimed at providing free water facility alongside free medical services and other related social welfare to empower rural communities across the state.
The funding of this project was made possible through collective monthly personal contributions by staff of the retail group Access back Nationwide aimed at improving the welfare of the people at rural areas. It was a donation by access bank plc retail operations group crs 2025.
Umuokpo Emeabiam in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state was selected for the empowerment scheme as a top listed community to receive such a gift of the New Year 2026 in the area as gathered by newsmen.
Delivering the Borehole project, Access Bank Retail Operations Staff led by its zonal Head Mr Uche Okere, told Ndi Umuokpo community of the importance of the borehole installation as a way of given back to humanity certain needed social amenities to improve the well-being of rural dwellers and develop rural areas nationwide.
He said the choice of Umuokpo is Devine because the project was cited at a community which needed it most. However he was passionate to bringing it to the most needed community.
The contractor of the Project and CEO kleentek Global Service Ltd, Hon Uche Nwaneri hinted that the Borehole is AC/DC Solar powered, that is to say, the Solar Borehole can use an Alternating Current (AC)/ Direct Current (DC) generator and solar powered adding that it will serve Umuokpo community for more than twenty years with ease.
Contractor Uchenna Nwaneri added that good management and steady security watch over the borehole empowerment project is sacrosanct. He advised the community to utilize the borehole properly and enjoy the good drinking source of water provided by access bank retail group.
The Traditional Ruler of Umuokpo Autonomous community, HRH Eze Unan Eke and the PG thanked immensely the Retail Operations of Access Bank and the contracting firm Kleentek for the blessing brought to the area. Eze Unan was highly elated while offering Thanksgiving to God who made it possible for his constituents to benefit from the New Year empowerment slot from Access Bank PLC. Eze Unan Eke blessed access bank for such a wonderful gift to his community and encouraged his people to patronize access bank.
The MD Money Vault Nigeria Ltd, a reputable community based financial institution in Nigeria Mr Uchenna Okere who was a one time staff of Access Bank thanked his former colleagues for their benovelent stride to Umuokpo community and donated a 6.5 horsepower generator to the community to power the water project when there’s need as explained by the contractor, the process of dual capacity operational model of the hybrid borehole.
In his parting words “this is the commissioning of a solar powered borehole project donated by the staff of retail department Access bank PLC (CSR 2025) to Umuokpo autonomous community. This project was handled by my company Kleentek Global Service Ltd, Hon Nwaneri stated.
Mr Uchenna Nwaneri who is the CEO of Kleentek group specializes on industrial cleaning and pest control services, Solar Installations and doubles as a security consultant to FUTO.
The Vice Chairman Owerri West , Prince Osinachi Amako (NO VEX) applauded the service providers and contracting firm for empowering Umuokpo Owerri West as he was on hand to commission the project with other dignitaries spotted at the commissioning, by 9News Nigeria.
The commissioning was witnessed by the Traditional Ruler of Umuokpo Autonomous Community, Eze Unan , the PG of Umuokpo, Women and Youth groups, the CEO Money vault Ltd Mr Uchenna Okere. The Vice Chairman Owerri West LGA Hon. Osinachi Amako . Access bank retail operations group Imo state led by the zonal head Mr. Uche Okere.
Mr Charles Oguibe and a host of other community leaders. Divisional Director Charles Oguibe re- emphasized that the funding of the project was made possible by personal financial contributions by the retail group and advised the community to handle the project with caution for preservation.
