Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Channels Media Group, Dr. John Momoh, OON, has called on Nigerians, particularly young people, to remain optimistic while urging them to unlock their potential and contribute to national development.
Speaking at the National Diaspora Day and Merit Awards 2026 held in Abuja on Saturday, Momoh encouraged citizens not to lose faith in Nigeria despite its current challenges, stressing that every individual possesses the capacity to achieve greatness.
“In each and every one of us, and the youth among us today, there’s a lion sleeping. All we need to do is to wake it up,” he said.
The media executive’s remarks resonated with delegates at the event, where he emphasized the importance of resilience, innovation, and self-belief in driving Nigeria’s progress.
Momoh also emphasized the critical role of the Nigerian diaspora in national development, noting that their contributions, and continued engagement remain critical to the country’s growth and global standing.
