Few days ago Imo received national presidential team that stormed the state for the official inauguration of a gas processing plant in Imo state Nigeria by President Tinubu.

The inauguration was successful done and dusted but the actuality of its completion and functionality has continued to attract several dimensions of reactions and weighty thoughts from various groups of technocrats, analysts and political leaders from various parties across the state.

9News Nigeria reports authoritatively that the inauguration is a right step in a timely dimension when Imo state is seriously yearning for some developmental benefits to cushion the effects of high cost of Gas.

The Gas Plant is also expected to boost increments of income cum revenue base of the state and provide employment for the teeming population.

At distribution of Gas , the plant is expected to generate super gas hub that will massively supply Gas at a subsidized price.

The plant is situated in Asaa Ohaji Egbema local government area of Imo state Nigeria with other satellite plants in Awara and some other neighbouring communities in the area.

It has been speculated that the Gas deposit in the area is highest in the West African Sub Region and expectedly such Communities within which this has companies are situated be developed and co-opted in the employment status quo.

Roads leading to the plant is so bad and electricity supply has remained a phrasal reciprocal in the area till date.

Investigation revealed that the people are violent because of the improper management of the natural resources deposit in their land.

Their youths have resorted to restiveness and violence to protest their unimaginable disenfranchisement by government, having such Gas deposit in the area

President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the SEPLAT Energy ANOH Gas Plant located in Assa in the Ohaji Egbema LGA of Imo State on Wednesday 15-05-2024 amidst crowds of witnesses.

Notedly, ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) built the plant as a joint venture owned by SEPLAT Energy and the Nigeria Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC) ,a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC).

At the commencement of steady distribution of Gas across the states of the Federation, Imo would have been the first beneficiaries and partakers of Gas production benefits from SEPLAT Energy.

Governor Hope Uzodinma is receiving accolades over his commitment and teamwork to establish such a wonderful achievement while Imolites are frantically looking forward a functional gas plant that will improve help reduce the high cost of Gas in the State.
