Imo Majority Leader, Rt. Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi has been elected the second time to represent the people of Owerri West in the Imo state house of Assembly.
His victory came from the platform of All Progressives Congress APC Political party to go for second tenure at a straight time having served as the majority leader of the 9th house.
He however has dedicated the election Victory to the All Progressives Congress and all the people of Owerri West local government area for voting en-masse for him to emerge as winner.
9News Nigeria reports that the election that brought Kanayo Onyemaechi Egbe Owerri West to win was free and fair and we’ll conducted by INEC.
Though there was voter apathy in some areas visited by 9News Nigeria at the beginning of he election but Owerri West Electorates trooped out heavily towards the mid of the election to cast their votes for All Progressives Congress APC party.
There were other contestants from Labour Party, People’s Democratic Party, All Progressives Grand Alliance amongst others. But at the end of the process of Election, Kanayo Onyemaechi emerged the winner of Imo state Assembly for Owerri West.
Recall that there was collation of results and declaration was done by LGA INEC Presiding Officer amidst crowds of party agents and observer groups.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Imo State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi-Egbe Eji Eje Ogu has won the State of Assembly Election at the just concluded Election conducted by INEC.
Our correspodent reports that the election that produced Kanayo Onyemaechi Egbe Owerri West was keenly contested and peaceful. There was no counter nor protest but wide acceptability and congratulations by all other Political party agents and Ndi Owerri West at large.
Owerri West electorate turned out en-masse to decide their legislator who will take charge of the Owerri West Constituency in the State House Assembly.
Alot is expected of him by the people to give Owerri West the best quality representation. Also as a high ranking officer of the 9th assembly, the 10th assembly will be an added feat to his legislative assignments.
At the declaration of the 2023 IMHA Election results in Umuguma, the Local Government collation center returning Officer, RO- Dr Akanazu Eze Christopher Stated that the election was peacefully conducted and results were collated and pronounced accordingly.
Fourteen Political parties featured in the election that Produced the All Progressives Congress APC party candidate, Kanayo Onyemaechi the winner of the House of Assembly Election in Owerri West.
Kanayo Onyemaechi pulled the total votes of six thousand two hundred and twenty six 6,226 and was certified and declared the winner.
Note that the All progressive congress APC party defeated the Labour Party, People’s Democratic Party PDP, All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA party candidates and emerged the winner of the 2023 House of Assembly Election for Owerri West state constituency.
In a related development, out the twenty seven 27 local government areas in Imo state Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress APC party won twenty Six on a landslide.
Imo State INEC resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Sylva made this declaration few hours ago and thanked Imo people for such a wonderful outing.
Kanayo Onyemaechi has however told the people of Owerri West that his second coming will give his local government and the state at large quality representation and good service delivery.
He cheerfully dedicated his election victory to the entire people of Owerri West while calling on his fellow contestants from various Political parties to join hands with him and the people to make Owerri West better.
History will have it that in Owerri West equity charter Rt. Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi took a straight twice share to the House of Assembly while the three Political blocs comprising of Ochie, Ara and Umunwaoha will decide on who takes the next turn after him, if the “equity charter” will stand.
