Imo workers has begun to receive new salary scale as approved by the shared prosperity administration led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma CON.
Friday, October 3, 2025, 9News Nigeria authoritatively reports that grades of increment alerts began dropping on the phones of Imo civil servants, following the payment of the newly approved minimum wage by the State Government.
To this accomplished promise, Governor Hope Uzodinma, has once again matched his words with action, cementing his reputation as a leader who delivers.
Recall that last month, Governor Uzodimma approved a landmark minimum wage of ₦104,000 for Imo civil servants, making Imo the highest paying state in Nigeria and first to implement such a bold, worker-friendly policy.
A Government House official told 9News Nigeria that the Governor also ensured the upward review of salaries for medical doctors, pegging their entry point at ₦513,000, while lecturers will now earn ₦220,000 as entry point salary.
This unprecedented gesture reflects his clear vision for a prosperous Imo where hard work is rewarded, and public service is dignified.
Speaking with 9News Nigeria at the Civil service commission Owerri, a Senior permanent secretary hinted that for Imo workers, it is a celebration of renewed hope and a reminder that under Governor Hope Uzodinma, promises are not just made but fulfilled.
A notable commissioner in one of the ministries added that the thunderous joy across ministries, hospitals, and academic institutions speak volumes of a governor who has etched his name in history as a true champion of the people.
This is a confirmation that Imo civil servants erupted in joy in celebration of the People’s Governor Hope Uzodinma’s immediate implementation of the N104 new salary scale.
