AMARAKU CONCERNED CITIZENS (ACC) DECRIES POOR STATE OF INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT AND RISING CASES OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES IN THEIR COMMUNITY

… as group calls for immediate State government’s action.

The concerned citizens of Amaraku otherwise known as ACC have raised alarm over the poor state of infrastructures being done at the popular Orie Amaraku market by some government contactors as well as the rising level of criminal activities being experienced in the community.

The group which was founded by some concerned citizens of the community for the purpose of bringing development, ensuring peace and security among the whole villages in Amaraku , frowned at the quality of job being done by the contractors and other agencies handling the construction of the Orie Amaraku Market.

Speaking during the weekly My radio FM media interactive programme, Ala-dimma, the group secretary general, Mr. Kelechi Maduforo revealed that the quality of materials being used for the construction of the market and the structures itself, contravenes with what was presented to the community at the time of signing the MOU and presentation of the Master plan by the government contractors.

Mr. Kelechi took time to highlight some of the facilities included in the design of the market when the first contractor, Dr.Anyanwu presented the market prototype to the community such as, Borehole water, modern restrooms, standard car parks, bathroom among other things he said that will provide convenients in the market and increase the internally generated revenues of Amaruku community from the market and wondered why the subsequent contractors excluded those facilities from the market.

The secretary decried the poor quality of materials being used for the construction of the ongoing market, describing the structures as time bomb and called on the contractors and other relevant agencies handling the construction of the market to revert to the design and quality as agreed on the MOU to avert loss of lives and properties.

also speaking , the group president Hon. Chinaemerem Nwaiwu expressed worry over the increasing rate of land grabbing, Mal administration, injustice, criminal activities among other vices ravaging the community despite efforts and calls by the group to key leaders of the community to bring back normalcy, law and order in the community.

Mr. Nwaiwu described members of ACC as peace loving people and called on all well meaning sons and daughters of Amaraku community to join hands together with ACC to bring about the much needed development and peace to the community.
