Amid fresh split from the music duo, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has met with Paul Okoye of Psquare and his elder brother Jude Okoye.
9News Nigeria reports that the meeting comes amidst reports of a fresh split between Paul and his twin brother Peter, the other half of the popular music duo Psquare.
Although the details of Obi’s message to the brothers are yet to be disclosed, Paul Okoye shared photos and videos of the visit on social media, captioning them: “Thank you very much and God bless you sir P.O.”
The reported rift between the Okoye brothers began when Paul claimed to have written and sung 99% of Psquare’s songs, prompting Peter to express disappointment and hurt over Paul’s constant discrediting of his efforts in the group.
In an open letter, Peter listed several songs he had written, including “Ejeajo,” “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” and “Personally,” which Paul had failed to acknowledge. Peter accused Paul of always using “I” and “me” in interviews, making it seem like he was the sole talent behind Psquare.
Peter stressed that the fans loved Psquare because of their combined effort and uniqueness, not just for one person’s talent.
