A respected Islamic scholar from Zaria, Sheikh Khalifa Usman Idris, popularly known as Rigi-Rigi, has passed away.
The death of the cleric was confirmed on Monday morning by his son-in-law, Malama Abubakar Ɗanyaro, who spoke with Daily Trust.
According to Ɗanyaro, the prominent scholar died on Sunday night at a private hospital in Barnawa, Kaduna, after earlier receiving treatment at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in the state capital.
“He passed away Sunday night at a private hospital in Kaduna,” Ɗanyaro stated.
The funeral prayer (Janazah) for the late scholar has been scheduled for Monday after Asr prayer at his residence in the Kusfa area of Zaria, Kaduna State.
Mourners and followers are expected to gather to pay their final respects.
