Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accused the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, of repeatedly blaming him for political challenges in the state.
Wike made this known on Tuesday while responding to comments by the Kwara governor, saying the governor frequently invokes his name when discussing any political issue.
“Anytime he sees a snake, it’s Wike. Anytime he sees a reptile, it’s Wike. Any day he doesn’t eat, it’s Wike,” Wike said.
The FCT minister also accused AbdulRazaq of devoting too much attention to political criticism rather than governance.
“I never see people who will give time to gossip more than the work they have been given,” he said.
Wike further alleged that the Kwara governor had replaced all three serving senators from the state, as well as members of the House of Representatives in bad faith.
“He has three serving senators, he changed all of them. He has House Reps, he changed all of them,” Wike said.
The former Rivers State governor urged AbdulRazaq to address what he described as local political challenges without involving President Bola Tinubu.
“When you have your local problem, don’t use Mr President to cover up,” Wike said.
