A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Sule Lamido and a presidential aspirant on Tuesday said that Senator Godswill Akpabio defected because he was “afraid”.
While addressing propose delegates to the next month’s national convention of the party, Lamido who was also a former governor of Jigawa state said that Akpabio who defected from the PDP went to the APC for “protection” alleging that the APC government showed “Senator Akpabio some files and he became afraid”
“It is a disgrace for the APC government to give former governor Akpabio the type of reception he was given” saying that “It shows that the government is not serious about fighting corruption”.
