In a show of faith and solidarity, APGA Orumba North LGA, has passed a vote of confidence on Chief Akai Egwuonwu as the best choice to replace the late Anambra South Senator, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
This was expressed during an interactive session with party faithfuls, where APGA members in Orumba North LGA pledged their unwavering support for Chief Egwuonwu’s aspiration, describing him as a “home breed servant-leader.” They also poured commendations on Chief Akai for his significant contributions to the development of the agricultural sector in Anambra State, particularly rice farming and production.
Orumba North, being a major contributor to agriculture in the state, recognizes the value Chief Egwuonwu can bring to the table as Anambra South Senator. Accordingly, party faithfuls insist that Egwuonwu’s commitment to promoting agricultural development represents the interest of Anambra South senatorial district, and aligns with the party’s goals and values.
The party faithfuls also acknowledged that Nnewi South, where Chief Egwuonwu hails from, has been marginalized in terms of federal representation. They emphasized that it’s time for Nnewi South to take the reins, citing the popular Igbo phrase “ewee ewerukwa na ese okwu,” and therefore they should be given a turn in all fairness and in the spirit of being our brothers’ keeper.

Captain Barrister Casmir Nwafor, Mayor of Orumba North; Chief Nwobu Marcarthy, Chairman of all Chairmen of Anambra South APGA LGA Chairmen; Chief Ben Ekwenie, Local Government Secretary of APGA; and all local government party executives in Orumba North LGA.
