Apostle Johnson Suleman Secures Injunctive Orders Against Blogger Real George

Today, the FCT High Court, presided over by Justice A.H. Musa, granted an injunctive order in favor of Apostle Johnson Suleman in a case filed against popular YouTuber and blogger George Chijioke, who operates under the name Real George Blogs. The court issued an order of status quo restraining the blogger from publishing any defamatory content against Apostle Suleman via YouTube or any other internet platform.

The statement of claim, filed by Apostle Suleman’s lawyer Samuel Ihensekhien on January 19, 2023, details various alleged libelous social media publications made by Chijioke. Apostle Suleman asserts that these defamatory contents have caused him significant harm and ridicule among his church members and business associates worldwide.

In his claim, Apostle Suleman accused George Chijioke of posting approximately 160 videos on his YouTube channel, many of which allegedly portray him in a negative light. The court documents, dated January 12, 2014, state, “The defendant has posted about 160 cyberbullying and cyberstalking videos, a significant number of which are defamatory to the plaintiff’s personality.”

Highlighting the impact of these posts, the plaintiff’s lawyer noted that Apostle Suleman’s family, church members, and friends, who are active on social media, had brought the defamatory content to his attention. Despite some of the offending posts being deleted, there are others that Apostle Suleman intends to present as evidence during the trial.

Following the granting of the status quo injunctive orders, the court adjourned the case to September 24, 2024, for a definite hearing.
