Troops of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai, working with the Yobe State Hunters Group, have arrested five suspected kidnappers during an intelligence-led operation in Jegalari Village, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The operation, carried out on July 23 by troops of the 233 Battalion deployed at the Damaturu Military Cantonment, followed credible intelligence in the activities of the suspected criminals.

In a statement on Friday, the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Mohammed Goni, said the troops achieved the feat “during a well-coordinated intelligence-led operation conducted on 23 July 2026”
“The operation, executed by troops of the 233 Battalion deployed at Damaturu Military Cantonment, followed credible intelligence on the activities of the suspected criminal elements.
“During the raid, the troops recovered three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition, and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects’ activit
Goni said the suspects are currently in military custody alongside the recovered exhibits for further investigation to “ascertain their involvement in kidnapping and other related criminal activities”
Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at denying terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action across the North-East region through sustained intelligence-driven operations.
The military also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or activities to security agencies, noting that timely and credible information remains vital to improving security in the region.
