The Army Command in Abeokuta has distributed exercise books to pupils of Army Children School, Alamala in Ogun.
The Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Abeokuta, Brig.-Gen. Godwin Nwamba, who made the distribution on Friday, said that the gesture was an effort to support education in the community.
Nwamba said the idea was to help the pupils in their learning and ease hardship on the parents as the pupils resumed school.
The commander stated that every child deserved the best tools and opportunities to pursue his or her dreams and aspirations in life.
During the distribution, Nwamba also approved the construction of six toilets for the school.
Head Teacher of the school, Mrs Iyabo Adebanjo , expressed appreciation for the kind gesture.
Adebajo said the intervention was timely as some parents complained of their inability to afford books at the moment.
