The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of a nationwide screening and verification exercise for the education sponsorship of children of deceased personnel.
The initiative, aimed at ensuring access to quality education for the children of fallen soldiers, will take place across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, from February 8 to March 17, 2025.
The exercise will be conducted at designated centers, including the Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess 1 in Asokoro, Abuja.
It is part of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, providing financial support for primary, secondary, and tertiary education.
Meanwhile, to qualify for the sponsorship, applicants must present essential documents, including a handwritten application, the beneficiary’s admission letter, a recent school report card or result, a confirmation letter from the educational institution, the beneficiary’s birth certificate, and the deceased personnel’s death certificate, among others.
The Army has urged eligible families to take advantage of the exercise, emphasizing its dedication to honoring the sacrifices of fallen soldiers by ensuring their children receive the necessary educational support.
