The governor of Imo state, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma has assured Imo people that he came to be the governor of the state to improve the state and make life more meaningful for the generality of Ndi Imo.
Uzodinma made this statement while flagging off the construction of Orlu Mgbee road cum Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia road respectively on Tuesday 26-07-2022.
While addressing the mammoth crowds of Imo people that turned out en masse to witness the flagg-off, Governor Uzodinma stated that Public Resources are meant for public use and cannot be diverted or be used recklessly or converted for private use.
The governor noted with dismay the set back in past adminstrations caused by a dreaded syndrome which he termed as “post power syndrome” that has eaten deep the fabric of Imo Government.
He therefore called for an immediate stop to such an obnoxious practice by Imo political leaders and past Government functionaries targetted at distracting good governance and setting the state backwards.
While promising to change the urgly narrative bedevilling Imo state, Uzodinma said that as a government, he will enforce peace through charging all enforcement agencies to work.
On creating work opportunities to improve the teeming Imo youths, the governor x-rayed his policy plans which included revitalization of NSUPALM, ADAPALM, AGRO Industrial Finishing school and etc to provide immediate employments in the state.
In futherance, Uzodinma hinted that the only asset he has is Imo people and he is ready to empower every Imolite with good governance and signature projects across the state.
He reiterated that since he became governor of Imo state through the mandate of due process, he cannot be harassed out of office by anybody.
“Post power syndrome has ridiculed past leaders in Imo state and the earlier they will understand this fault, the system will automatically change to the benefit of all Imolites.
“To address the needs of the people, total integration is how to improve the state.
“I have no money to hire propaganda but to showcase government projects. Our work will speak for us”
“I therefore employ all Imolites to support the company handling the road project than to distort the work.
The contractor of Graneburg Construction Company handling the projects, Mr Gilbert promised Imo state government that the company have set a precedence to commence the work immediately after the flag-off. He also told Imo people to be rest assured that at the end of the road when the work is completed, access will be granted from other states to come into Owerri with ease.
The Imo state Commissioner for works, Ralph Nwosu posited that the two major roads embarked upon by the Hope Uzodinma’s Administration will create accessible link to other neighbouring states. He however charged Craneburg construction company to do solid work to prove their worth.
The state All Progressives Congress APC party Chairman, Hon. Macdonald Ebere PhD told Imolites that the approval for the construction of these roads is commendable. He told Ndi Imo that this is a signature project which is hopefully to be completed without delay. He added that despite all distractions, Uzodinma has continued to do good for Imolites.
