Residents are now living in fear as the menace and terror from the Northern Bandits extends to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Unknown bandits have reportedly kidnapped two men from their houses in the hilly area close to the Lottery Quarters and few metres away from Living Faith Church at Byazhin in Kubwa
According to a report seen by 9News Nigeria, Mr Ayodele Somorin and Mr Oladimeji Josiah were abducted by unknown gunmen while they were in their houses around 11:45 PM on Friday, 21st May 2021.
A resident who witnessed the incident said that the gunmen broke into the first house and took away Somorin, and then went to the second house where they shot sporadically before kidnapping Mr Josiah.
He said that the next day, the kidnap incident was reported at Byazhin Police Station. Following the report, some policemen reportedly visited the scene on Saturday, May 22nd 2021.
9News Nigeria learnt that days after the abduction, the kidnappers are now demanding N10 million ransom from each of the victims before they can regain their freedom.
While responding to the press, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Mariam Yusuf confirmed the incident and also said that the police has launched an operation to rescue the victims.
