Many X users have expressed interests and different opinions on a trending video, showing a new born child being dedicated to the Youruba god of water.
In the viral video posted on Sabi Radio, a new born baby was supposedly baptized and dedicated to the god of water in the land.
Some users have queried the actions, while some explained that there is disparity between traditions and practices, stressing that in the Christian rites – it is called baptism but in the African faith – it is called “ritual”.
“This one na ritual. The other one na baptism. Observe.” One user, @Odumeje_ wrote.
Note; Baptism is the Christian religious rite of initiation and dedication using water, traditionally three times, once for each person.
