Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old suspected arms runner following credible intelligence.
The suspect, Fatima Salisu, a native of Funtua town in Katsina State, was arrested at the Azuba area of Lafia, Nasarawa State while allegedly transporting Ammunition through Keana and Doma local government areas, enroute to deliver the consignment to criminal elements in Katsina.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest in a statement, noting the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Nasarawa State Police Command arrested the suspect based on an intelligence.
Ammunition recovered from the suspect are 400 rounds of 7.62 ×39mm ammunition and 81 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.
According to the police, the suspect now in custody is helping with useful information.
