Hon.Beni Lar, the sacked law member contested the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 National Assembly Elections conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Tribunal declared Vincent Venmen of The All Progressive Congress (APC) who came second as the winner of the election. In the ruling the Court nullified the election of the PDP candidate because of the party’s failure to respect the order of The Jos High Court to conduct Ward congress election and the evidence presented by the APC candidate were relevant and admissible, adding that all the votes cast for the PDP candidate were all invalid.
Beni Lar was elected to the House of Representatives in 2007, In 2008, She served as the House of Representatives chair on Women Affairs.
And, since then she has been a member.
