The Nigerian born and London based Billionaire Businessman, 
Mr Waya, whom many classify as the most popular Nigeria fun-loving socialite and Versace designer-loving businessman also known as ‘Mr Versace’ made the claim in an interview with BBC pidgin where he talked about how he made his money.
He said he was not born into wealth but moved to Kaduna before relocating to Abuja during the Gen Ibrahim Babangida regime where he met his army friend who connected him to the Banana Island contract.
“I got the contract to develop the Banana Island first, before handing it over to the Chagoury group to complete the project, He added”.
Waya however, disavowed he was charged for money laundering in the UK as widely reported in 2005, but claimed he committed a mortgage related offense.
