Shocking information reaching our news desk has it that the Crude Oil Refiners Association of Nigeria has urged the Federal Government to consider selling NNPC refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna as a quantitative means to finance modular refineries.

This sudden call by the crude refiners union to the Federal Government to sell off the existing refineries in Nigeria as a means to empower and finance the modular refineries across the country may likely be a good idea as gathered.

But reactions have continued to kickdown the idea while calling for a rejection and stand down of such alleged proposal and idea to allow the existing independence status of the oil sector to flourish.

Crude Oil Refiners Association of Nigeria in their last meeting held recently are seriously considering the sell-off of the existing refineries by the government as it affects Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries respectively to improve the upgrade of the modulars.

Meanwhile, this singular moves by the union calling the government to consider and approve the sell-off of the existing refineries and use the proceed to work on modular ones, the masses are asking of what benefit will it be to Nigerians?

It is on this therefore that the call by CRUDE OIL REFINERS ASSOCIATION has continued to attract very heavy turn down by Nigerians and experts in the Oil and Gas sector who are stating that the economic situation attacking the country is worrisome and highly challenging and has nothing to do with the selling of existing refineries to upgrade the Modulars.

A state house source who spoke with the press hinted that the idea by Crude Oil Refiners Association of Nigeria urging the government to consider selling NNPC refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna as a means to funding the modular refineries, is likely to fuss another level of distraction of Renewed Hope administration policy if considered.
