Angry youths protesting against the hunger in the country have reached former Governor Nyesom Wike’s residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Wike, the Federal Capital Territory minister, had vehemently kicked against the protest in the Nigerian capital.
While the protests seem to have died down in the FCT, the street processions are gradually picking up in Wike’s home state.
The demonstrators have now gathered at the former governor’s mansion in the state capital as the protests enter Day 6.
In response, the Nigerian Police Force has deployed additional personnel to the area to maintain order and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
One of the protesters in a viral video seen by 9News Nigeria described Wike as one of the criminals benefiting from the government of the day.
