President Buhari has reportedly warned the ousted National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole against violence in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.
Oshiomhole sneaked into Aso Rock Presidential Villa Monday afternoon to seek an audience with President Buhari.
The President was said to be worried about the simmering chaos in Edo State which could further aggravate the security tension ravaging the country.
Reports have been rife with the accusation that the duo of Oshiomhole and Mr. Hosa Okunbo are the agent provocateurs, instigating violence across Edo State in a desperate move to install their preferred candidate, Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Reacting to Oshiomhole’s visit to the villa, a founding Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Earl Osaro Onaiwu said the former APC National Chairman has nothing new to tell the President.
He said many Nigerians unfortunately now see him as a double-faced blatant liar.
“Oshiomhole has no new song to sing to the President but a cocktail of fallacies aimed at buying sympathy for his failed project of installing an unmarketable candidate”, he quipped.
Meanwhile, Osaro Onaiwu has asked Nigerians and Edo people in particular to hold the duo of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and controversial businessman, Hosa Okunbo responsible if violence breaks out in the September 19 governorship election.
Onaiwu who was also a gubernatorial candidate in the 2016 edo elections alleged that the duo are hellbent on causing widespread havoc across the state in order to achieve their selfish ends in the state.
He stated that intelligence reports have repeatedly indicted the duo since the run up to the forthcoming elections, wondering why people can be so desperate for power that they are amassing “lions and tigers” to kill and maim Edo people.
Onaiwu urged security agencies to focus their searchlights towards the direction of Mr. Hosa and the APC candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Ize-Iyamu has been seen in a video openly fraternising with political thugs while there are also concerns that Mr. Okunbo’s abode has become a sort of “mecca” for men of the underworld who are apparently being recruited and mobilised as mercenaries for the September 19 election.
