A fire damaged a section of a filling station along Rumukwurushi junction in Port Harcourt this morning.
The fire is said to have started from a gas pipe at the filling station. Three fire trucks were used to stop the pressure from the gas pipe.
Some staff of the filling station were injured.
Our correspondent gathered that one ambulance and three Police vans were stationed at the junction as vehicular traffic was halted to prevent casualties in the event of an explosion. The security presence helped ensure there was no more looting of shops, as earlier reported. Some residents fear there could be another fire outbreak if the gas tank is not emptied.
