The President of the Great Minds Foundation, People with Deformities, Niger Delta, Comrade Friday Omoghene Otobo, responded to Mr. Simon Bidei’s radio program, describing it as misleading and lacking facts.
Comrade Otobo clearly stated, while speaking with our correspondent via phone, that responding to Mr. Simon Bidei’s claims on his radio program is for the purpose of clarity; otherwise, Mr. Bidei is not worth responding to.
We, persons with disabilities in the Niger Delta Region, have taken action against the unending tenure of leadership and have made a decision as a community.
Comrade Friday Omoghene Otobo emphasized that these decisions were reached by the members of the Persons With Disabilities in the Niger Delta Region. We are here to set aside the announcement made by Mr. Simon Bidei, who is representing himself as the PWDs Committee Chairman for the Niger Delta Region, and his wife, Mrs. Kevwe Eberere, who has been presenting herself as the PWDs Woman Leader for the Niger Delta Region.
We are here to refute the statement made by this husband and wife. It does not represent us; they are mischievous, misleading, and do not represent our organization.
The agreement for leadership is for two years, but this couple has run the committee for over 11 years with no accountability, no meetings, and no proceeds of the association have been distributed as agreed. The finances have been held in their personal accounts.
It is based on these facts that the members have unanimously dissolved the former committee headed by Mr. Simon Bidei and his cohorts; they are no longer representing this organization.
By this notice, we are calling on the NDDC Commission and the public not to have any dealings with them any longer.
We are working tirelessly, and as soon as the new resolution of the body is concluded, it will be made known to the general public,” he added.
