The Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, has been elected as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
This announcement was made known today, Friday in a tweet on their Twitter handle @PGFNigeria.
The forum, which is made up of Governors elected and serving under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), unanimously elected the Kebbi State governor as Chairman of the Forum.
“We are very glad to announce that Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State Government is now our Chairman. Ensuing press releases and briefings will be made to this effect,” it tweeted.
Meanwhile, Governor Bagudu whose election was unanimous, will be replacing the Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha who will vacate office as a two-term governor on May 29.
Speaking after his emergence at a meeting held last night at Imo Governor’s Lodge Abuja, Governor Bagudu said he will provide leadership to PGF to realise the collective vision of the Progressive Governors to build a strong, democratic and inclusive APC.
He also pledged to “mobilise all party members and by extension Nigerians towards expanding and deepening democratic structures of the party.”
