Following the rumour making the rounds that Imo state governor, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma has left the state to take abode in the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, his arrival back to the state has divulged and indicated that security agencies have identified those behind the recent disturbances in the state.
The governor has gone ahead to reassure the people of Imo state of his government’s commitment to keeping the safety of lives and property in the state.
This statement was made while he was in the church service held at the Victory Chapel, bank road, Imo State Government House, Owerri.
The governor has maintained that he had a good opportunity to address some issues pertinent to the safety of the lives and properties of Imolites amidst the prevailing insecurity.
Meanwhile, Governor Uzodinma disclosed that security agencies have identified those behind the recent disturbances in the state and hinted that in the next few days, the identities of the hoodlums would be made public alongside their actions so that they can face justice squarely.
He futher stated that his administration would use all within its powers to identify and flush out criminals in Imo and in doing that, Imo state government will never negotiate with criminals.
The number one citizen of the state however used the avenue to warn anyone involved in any form of criminality aimed at bringing down Imo State by any means to have a rethink or such persons will have themselves to blame.
In his closing words, “anybody whose interest is to bring the state down must be prepared to be brought down as well, Uzodinma maintained.
The governor did not mince words to appreciate Imo residents for their understanding and resilience throughout the period of security breaches and skirmishes in the state which he said the mayhem in Imo State was carried out by hoodlums, bandits, a section of IPOB members and aggrieved politicians who have decided to sponsor violence to derail the Government of the day.
Uzodinma has assured that the government and good spirited Imolites are determined to overcome them all.
The words of the governor at the church service was a reassuring decimal to combat crime headon while reassuring Imo residents to go about their legitimate businesses without habouring any atom of fear.Imo state is safe!
