Breaking: Hon Toska Okere Flags-Off Erosion Control Project In Umuoma Nekede Road Imo State

The Honourable Member representing Owerri Federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Sir Tochukwu (Toska) has embarked on a working visit to Umuoma Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State Nigeria today dated Monday September 9, 2024 .

His visit was aimed at flagging-off of Erosion Control of Nekede Road, Owerri Federal constituency, Imo State Nigeria.

The Erosion control project was flagged-off Monday afternoon amid crowds of witnesses, road users, residents and Umuoma Nekede people in general.

Speaking at the flag-off at the otamiri nkwoahia Nekede road, Sir Toska Okere re-assured Ndi Nekede of his unwavering resolve to empower Nekede community alongside other Communities in his Constituency with Federal constituency projects execution and empowerment.

Sir Toska hinted that more enviable constituency package designed under his watch as a Federal House of Representative member is expected to go round across other communities numbering about 47 in Owerri federal constituency.

Sir Toska Okere further promised the people of Umuoma Nekede of immediate commencement of work on the Erosion site to help check the disastrous erosion menace ravaging the area.

He however assured Ndi Umuoma of construction of quality drainage system and sand filling of the otamiri link road to the river bridge to check the looming disaster threatening the area.

With this flag-off, the Umuoma People’s Assembly UPA will enjoy a sign of relieve having invested a humongous sum of money on the remedial work executed so far on the Nekede link road.

The community public relation manager, Amb Princely Onyenwe while speaking before the crowds on behalf of the President General Chief DIKEOHA Okechukwu Opara and the UPA lauded Toska Okere’s legislative ability, project integration and kind gesture exhibited on the flag-off of the erosion control project situate in Umuoma Nekede.

PRO Onyenwe hinted that the Umuoma Nekede Erosion control embarked upon by the Federal House of Reps member, Sir Toska Okere is a top notch project that will stand the test of time at completion.

Other person who spoke at the flag-off included,. Labour party ward (7) chairman Mr Justice Eke, Youth leader comrade Nanas Aharanwa, Ikea Town Chairman Chief Christopher Ejiogu, Elder Emmanuel Opara respectively.

The PRO added that in the recent time , the likes of Hon Madoka Ordu, Dr Collins Anah, Christopher Ejiogu’s led Umuikea Town Executive, Chief Okechukwu Opara’s led UPA and the generality of Nekede people at home and diaspora will not be forgotten for their massive contributions to the maintenance of the Mmiri Nkwoahia link road where this erosion disaster has bedeviled.

The manager Toska Team Owerri West Comrade Shanka Chinedu Ejiogu earlier rated his Boss Toska Okere high for his continued attention given to solving the plights of the people of Nekede alongside the flag-off of Umuoma Nekede Mmiri Nkwoahia erosion control embarked upon.

The project is expected to commence with immediate effect to synchronize the already existing efforts invested by the people and good friends of Nekede.

In addition, an Oil and Gas professional and industrialist resident in US, Royal Prince of Igboland Land, Prince Sebastian Eke was massively applauded for his unrelenting efforts invested together with the coordinated efforts of the diasporan illustrious Sons and Daughters of Nekede.

Their coordinated efforts gave rise to the remedial measure invested so far on the nmiri nkwoahia link road Nekede, estimated at about N20 million naira and above.

Recall that the Federal Government of Nigeria through its agency, National Productivity center, plot 2173 Cape Town Street, Wuse Zone 4 Abuja brought the Erosion Control of Nekede Road, Owerri Federal constituency, Imo State.

BONITA BAY LIMITED, 1 Rima street, Maitama Abuja is the contractor handling this project ably sponsored by Hon Sir Tochukwu Okere (Toska), member representing Owerri Federal constituency.

The Nekede erosion control flag-off was commendable while the residents of the area are calling on Imo State Government ably led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma to assist the them to tar or apply solid bitumen on their road as a matter of needed importance.

The flag-off was witnessed by Community leaders, Community elders, Youths, road users and other dignitaries too numerous to mention.
