On March 26, 2025, in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, the individual responsible for the murder of Reverend Sister Maureen Wechenowu was apprehended. This criminal act involved the theft of her personal belongings and money.
The local vigilante group, Ospac, under the firm leadership of Commander Kingsley Wali, successfully captured the murderer, identified as Mr. Okoro Kelvin, at his hideout. He had been evading capture since the heinous crime was committed.
Sources indicate that Mr. Okoro Kelvin resorted to this violent act due to an overwhelming debt that he could not manage. In a misguided attempt to escape his financial troubles, he believed that killing the Reverend Sister would offer him a solution.
It has been confirmed that Mr. Okoro Kelvin is from the Oduoha Ogbakiri community in Emouha Local Government Area of Rivers State. He has now been handed over to the Nigerian Police for further investigation.
