Mojisola Miranda from Apapa 1 constituency has emerged as the new Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, 9News Nigeria reports.
This development comes after the impeachment of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa by 32 members of the House.
Miranda, a former Chief Whip of the House, was sworn in immediately to lead the 40-member House.
Similarly, the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Fatai Mojeed, is elected as the Deputy Speaker
Obasa was impeached over allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement against him.
