ABUJA – THERE was tension in Okugbe, Okpella, Estako East Local Government area of Edo State Friday morning as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP were alleged to have taken over the streets of the village, clashing with supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to a source, the security at the divisional police post in Okpella have been overwhelmed by the youths who may have probably gone out of control, destroying vehicles and other property belonging to supporters of APC.
The source also said the youth came out in their numbers to forcefully break out some suspected PDP thugs arrested by the police from the cell. According to the source, the crisis may not be unconnected to the Thursday’s postponement of Edo state gubernatorial election earlier fixed for tomorrow, Saturday, September 10, 2016.
