Following the high trend of rape all over the state of the federation and mostly at the rural areas, an NGO, Society for Safe Motherhood SOSAM has brought the remedy to checkmate rapists and save rape victims from the point of perceived incident.

Dr.Joyce Kalu from Abia State, a Medical Doctor and the CEO of Society for Safe Motherhood SOSAM has made this classic revelation to 9News Nigeria.

According to Dr Joyce, the device is for every woman in Nigeria, considering the rate of rape cases in the country.

She however pointed out that it is alarming and SOSAM intend to curb the excesses of this criminals, by alerting the security as soon as any woman is in danger or is victimized.

The device according to her, is highly sensitive and working very effectively’

Meanwhile, the device will be configured to the owner of the device whose function is to simply press a button scripted on the device to send rape alert signal to the police and security agencies within the area of rape incident or apprehension.

The NGO is calling on the security agency and reliable partners to help SOSAM pass this message to every home in Nigeria.

The device will show where the victim is calling from, for police and security operatives to swing into action in that direction, where she or he is in distress.

The device is digital and will be programmed appropriately at the point of give away to respective personal data of people.

She added that this device is an invention from SOSAM partners in China to stop Rape in Nigeria.

And with the circulation and possible configuration of the Rape Device detector with private code numbers, Rape cases will drastically reduce.
