The SOUTH EAST APC YOUTH FRONTIERS have condemned the recent attacks on the Imo State Police Command Owerri(CID),and the Owerri Correctional Center which led to over 1,500 inmates of the prison facility fled from the centre.
In a chat with 9News Nigeria, the Youth Group also called on Governor Hope Uzodinma to continue to add more Votes on the security for the safeguard of lives and properties.
It will be recalled that at the early hours of Easter Monday April 5th,2021,some unidentified gunmen had set the Police Command and the Correctional Center Owerri which are closely located behind IMO Government House ablaze,leading to destructions of security properties.
In a swift reaction in Owerri to the sad event, the Convener of the APC YOUTH GROUP Comr. OGBONNA COLLINS, called on the Executive Governor of IMO State, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma to immediately partner with the necessary security outfits in the state to fish out perpetrators of the deadly act.
“We call on the Executive Governor of IMO State who is the Chief Security Officer of the State, the Inspector General of Police,Directors of Nigeria Correctional Service and other security agencies to fish out perpetrators of the deadest attack on our Police Command and the Jailbreak when the good people of IMO are still celebrating the Easter Season.
We are surprised at the sad event because Governor Hope Uzodinma has restored the Security and Confidence of Imolites since he assumed office.
We therefore call on all necessary stakeholders to put hands together to tackle the recent menace for all to live safely.
We the Youths have also mobilized our footsoldiers to report any suspicion of any strange movement and face in their neighborhoods as most of the inmates who escaped are still stranded at one point or the other.
Our roles as Youths in Security of lives and properties are paramount.We will continue to educate our teeming members the youths on the DANGERS OF CRIME AND OTHER SOCIAL VICES across the zone to ensure that South East Region is rid of criminals.”
The Youth Group also charged neighborhoods of the attack places to be conscious of their movements.
