As Nigerians go out to vote for their preferred candidates who will represent them in the next four years, a quick check by 9news Nigeria correspondent in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital has shown that there is heavy security to ensure that there is peaceful, free and fair elections.

Our correspondent reports that soldiers, police, civil defense operatives can be seen moving around the city, making sure that everything is going fine.

Also, a lot of people have already started to go to their different polling Units to cast their votes.
