The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed as its new Acting National Chairman.
This decision followed the suspension of the former Acting National Chairman, Amb. Illiya Damagum.
PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, confirmed the new appointment in a statement on Friday.
Hon. Ologunagba said the appointment takes immediate effect and it is pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).
The statement said that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party is, therefore, calling on all organs, leaders, critical stakeholders, and members of the Party to remain focused.
Such vigilance is imperative, it said, especially now that the NWC has commenced arrangements to hold the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting already scheduled for Thursday, 24th October 2024.
