People’s Democratic Party (PDP) media mogul and prominent politician, Dele Momodu, has leveled serious allegations against the camp of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
According to Momodu, the group has been instrumental in fueling the party’s internal crisis, working covertly to undermine the PDP’s efforts in the 2023 general elections.
Momodu, a former presidential aspirant under the PDP, made these claims during a program on Channels TV on Monday, asserting that the FCT Minister’s faction had clear objectives from the outset.
He pointed out that this group had boasted openly about working in favor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential race, despite their supposed affiliation with the PDP.
“Truth is constant. They have never hidden their mission in the ongoing struggle in the PDP. They have boasted that they worked for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in 2023.” He said.
His statement implies that some members within the party’s hierarchy are loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and were instrumental in orchestrating the PDP’s challenges, effectively compromising the party’s ability to function as a strong opposition force.
These allegations follows the widespread discontent within the PDP, which has struggled with internal divisions since its loss in the 2023 elections.
The party has faced leadership struggles, defections, and accusations of betrayal from within.
Momodu’s remarks have sparked renewed conversations about the integrity of the party’s leadership and the motivations of key figures who may have worked against PDP’s success.
The allegation that a prominent group within the party worked in favor of Tinubu, who contested under the APC banner, raises serious concerns about the future of the PDP as it prepares for subsequent elections and internal reorganization.
