A young Enugu billionaire identified as Levi O. Obieze known also as Ezeani, AKA ‘Ichie Million or E dey play e dey show’, in Unojo Umumba Ndi-Agu in Ezagu Local Government Area of Enugu state has been arrested by immigration officials, 9NEWS NIGERIA has learnt.
Recall that he was on Monday, exposed to have been capturing and burying individuals from the area alive, for suspected ritual purposes.
This was revealed after he and his gang tried to kidnap a young girl who had gone to farm with her father not knowing it’s their last day in the business.
According to her, she had gone to fetch firewood with her father to process garri when the men approached them to request cutlass from the father to repair their motorcycle which he unsuspectedly handed them.
The 13-year old girl further revealed that the men took the cutlass and shifted their motorcycle to a corner pretending to have been repairing the bike with the cutlass as they had said.
However, things would take a different turn when the men captured the teenage girl, tied her up, dug a hole and threw her in then covered it with some stuff.
“They captured me, tied me up, bundled me to a corner, dug a hole then threw me inside and covered it with something. I started shouting and the security intervened,” she said.
However, 9NEWS NIGERIA gathered that Ezeani was not among those who went for the kidnapping in person as he had recruited some men to do the dirty jobs for him whereby they go out, capture individuals and bring to him to bury for his rituals.
This was revealed after two of his men were captured and interrogated in a video where one confessed that his job was to man his gate and keep people off the property whenever the rituals were on going. On the other hand, another man who allegedly was the head of those in charge of kidnapping their victims was captured and beaten up by angry villagers.
When the news of the ugly incident that has been going on in the village broke out, the Unojo umumba ndi-Agu community people gathered and set Ezeani’s property ablaze after they dug up his soakaway pit only to discover decomposing bodies of his victims whom he had buried alive including a heavily pregnant woman who was suspected to have been freshly buried.
Ezeani is said to have been the envy of many young men like himself in the community following his wealth at a not-so-young age. He was always seen on occasions throwing money like it was paper.
He could afford anything he needed; cars, houses, anything at all and this made his peers envy him so much.
However, no one knew he was doing something very sacrilegious to make his money.
In a video of one of his money spraying activities at an occasion, Ezeani was seen with his “club members” all spraying money like it’s nothing with the MC slamming those who were videoing while their mates were spraying money. However, the outfit was what caught the attention of many as they were all dressed in red with a touch of white designed with human skeleton.
This discovery has caused outrage on the internet as many youths have been forced to accept what they have and not envy anybody. Many have suggested that all his “club members” in the video be arrested as they are suspected cult members and could have their hands in the atrocities or similar, in their own ways; as a way to curb future recurrence.
When the case garnered so much public attention on Tuesday, the attention of the Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area, Honourable Vita Ndu; the member representing Ezeagu Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze; and the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, were drawn as they visited the scene.
The council chairman following the state Governor’s order further asked for the house belonging to the Ezeani be demolished as his two wives and accomplices were arrested after the youths and villagers had already unleashed their anger on them.
According to sources, Ezeani is currently on the run as the villagers have been put in absolute mourning and panic.
Meanwhile, the state police is yet to release an official statement on the incident as at the time of reporting this.
