BREAKING: Port Harcourt Refinery Resumes Operations, NNPC Begins Distribution

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has achieved a major milestone with the successful rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery.

The refinery, which resumed operations today, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., has officially begun the truck-out of refined petroleum products.

The NNPC Ltd in a statement, reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a steady supply of refined products to meet the needs of Nigerians.

The Port Harcourt Refinery, located in Rivers State, is a key component of Nigeria’s refining capacity.

Its rehabilitation was undertaken as part of the federal government’s plan to overhaul the country’s refineries and revamp the downstream oil and gas sector.

The refinery’s reopening comes at a critical time as the nation seeks to address persistent challenges in the energy sector, including scarcity and rising fuel costs.

The truck-out of products from the refinery is expected to improve distribution efficiency and ensure availability in key markets across the country.
