Immediate past US President, Donald Trump has been acquitted of the second stage of Impeachment trial holding on the Senate’s floor.
The Senate voted for Trump’s impeachment but failed to get 57 votes required to allow the impeachment trial to succeed.
Although some Republican senators voted for the impeachment, the 47 threshold votes required to acquit the former president was eventually actualised.
Donald Trump has been twice tried for impeachment and twice acquitted.
Donald Trump is the first former US president that has been tried for impeachment after leaving office.
