Information available at 9news Nigeria desk says that one person has been killed at the Lugbe Timber Shed, along Airport Road in Abuja following an argument over alleged blasphemy.
It was learned that an argument ensued between two vigilante operatives, leading to the locking up of one of them.
The argument went from bad to worse when friends of the vigilante operative locked up came pleading for his release.
After much argument, one of the vigilante operative insisted that even if “God comes down”, he will not release the person arrested to go home.
The comment provoked the other group, which led to them regrouping and subsequently brought down the vigilante office to rescue their man.
They reportedly attacked, killed and set ablaze the vigilante personnel who insisted that he will not release the arrested person from detention.
For now, security operatives have been mobilised to the market, but shops are only scantily opened, with hopes that there would be no reprisal attack.
Some traders who spoke to our correspondent pleaded anonymity saying the persons involved are all of the Muslim faith.
9news Nigeria therefore condemn killing using any guise noting that human life is sacred and should be respected.
