The Delta State Police Command has arrested a woman who allegedly killed the father of her two children with the heel of her shoe over alleged infidelity.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon, January 23, in Ugbuwangwe community, Warri South Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly used the heel of her shoe to hit the deceased identified as Sylvester Etsebaghranro after accusing him of infidelity. He slumped and died on the spot but she has since denied the allegation.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the incident told Vanguard on the phone that the suspect has been arrested.

“We arrested her to keep her in protective custody. And so that we can find her whenever she is needed. The lady has made some confessions to the Police about the incident. But nobody from the family or around has come to report the matter. So we are going on with the statement of the woman that she didn’t use her shoe on him till we get anything different. The investigation is on.” she added.

Onovwakpoyeya said the remains of the deceased had been deposited in a morgue.

It cannot be confirmed if the deceased was legally or traditionally married to the suspect, however, community sources said the couple, had been living together with their two children.

“I don’t know if they had fulfilled all marriage rites but they have children and have been living together. The wife as we call her used the heel of her shoe to hit the husband’s head from the back and he slumped and died. She accused him of extramarital affairs. His corpse is in the mortuary now as we speak. And the wife has been arrested.” The source said

A Facebook user has taken to the platform to mourn the deceased while pointing out the risk of staying with a partner who is violent. Read the post below..
