The police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have urged residents to be vigilant as they go about their celebrations this festive season.
DSP Anjuguri the command’s spokesman, of Federal Capital Territory police mad this known in a telephone conversation in a reality radio programme on Human Rights Fm which was covered monitored by DAILY TRUST.
The force public relations officer, while wishing residents a joyous celebration, said the command had put in place adequate measures to ensure a hitch free Christmas celebration.
“The commissioner of police has given orders to all division police officers and area commanders to strengthen security across recreational centres, places where you have beehive of activities within this period and places of worship,” he said.
“We are using this medium to call on members of the public to be vigilant and security conscious. We are also assuring them that our teams are out there and they have been trained adequately to respond to any distress call,” he stated.
