BREAKING:GOV. ALIA IMPOSES CURFEW ON UKUM,BENUE STATE INDEFINITELY

His Excellency, the executive governor of Benue state Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has declared a 24 hour curfew on Ukum Local Government Area of Benue state with effect from 3PM today, Wednesday 3rd July 2024.

This follows the grave security situation in the region that has led to the wanton destruction of property leading to instability of the area.

The governor, through his deputy, Bar. Dr. Sam Ode mni, has therefore, directed that:

  1. Beginning today, 3rd July 2024, a curfew be imposed on ukum Local Government and environs beginning from 3PM to 3PM of tomorrow 4th July 2024.
  2. The curfew shall be observed from 6PM to 6AM beginning from tomorrow 4th of July 2024 untill further notice.

The governor has called for calm as security operatives have been deployed in their numbers to keep the peace in Ukum in particular and the Sankera region at large.
